The Metropolitan Museum of Art has always been a place that I wanted to visit, but for some reason, haven’t. With this blog assignment, I found the perfect excuse to go visit. Just standing in front of the famous museum, I was very excited. Definitely more excited than I thought I would be.
When I realized that the MET had an Ancient Egypt Exhibition, I knew that was where I wanted to go first. Being Egyptian, and not knowing much about the culture, I really wanted to see what they had. I wasn’t disappointed. The exhibit had pretty much everything from hieroglyphics to statues to gold. It was amazing to me how much actual stuff from Egypt they had that was in the museum. Walking through the exhibit, truly made me feel like I was walking through Ancient Egypt.
The last time I been to Egypt was about three years ago when I had actually went to visit the Museum of Cairo. The exhibit in the MET reminded me of a mini version of the Museum of Cairo. They had many similarities such as having a room filled with jewelry and gold, which is one of my favorite sections. Although the MET did not have mummies like the Museum of Cairo, it had plenty to remind me of my Egyptian culture. I had a great time and definitely see myself visiting again.
