Monologue

Flying in a November night

No turbulence, no strong wind

Peace reminded in and out

Everyone was dreaming

Dreaming of ups, dreaming of downs

Dreaming of the upcoming destination

Five hours passed

The captain announced

We are here! We are in New York!

Off the plane

The place was unfamiliar

With no recognizable faces

We were lost

Seriously, in an airport?

Anyway

Speaking a little English

We made our way to the arrival hall

It was 5:30am

Where was cousin?

He supposed to be here

No cellphone plan, no data

It was impossible to get in touch

He in the parking area, we inside

8:30am

Finally, he came in

Everyone was full of joy

No more waiting, no more curses

Let’s go home!

Later, we found out

We misunderstood the meeting place

Upsss! Poor cousin

  1. I love your monologue, it’s hilarious. It’s easy to get lost in the airport, especially for those first comes. Sorry for your poor cousin.
