Venezuela’s Economy: What Lies Ahead?

AS/COA will host a public panel with experts on the Venezuelan economy to discuss the country’s outlook for 2015. The drop in global oil prices has had a major effect on Venezuela, with Moody’s recently downgrading the country’s debt and inflation hitting 64 percent in 2014.
As Venezuela’s economic situation grows precarious, what are the political and social implications? How are Venezuelans reacting to ever-increasing shortages of basic goods?
