This event will feature a discussion of the Initiative for Democratic and Economic Alternatives (IDEAS) for Cuba, which is dedicated to the research, exploration and dissemination of alternatives for Cuba’s future as it transitions toward a more democratic system. The aim of this project is to engage the U.S., the international community and Cuban dissidents in an on-going dialogue about the possibilities for Cuba’s future and provide scholarly research on both Cuban Studies and on the unique current historical position of Cuba, as it stands poised to move toward a transition in its governance systems.
