U.S.-Japan-Korea Trade Relations: Recent Developments & Future Prospects

The bilateral talk between Japan and South Korea in 2015 was a significant step forward in the fragile relationship between both nations. Despite enduring frictions, Japan and Korea are important trading partners to one another and the United States is also a major trading partner for both countries. In this program, speakers examine trade relations and recent developments on trade issues related to the U.S., Japan and Korea. In addition to discussing the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), speakers also offer their thoughts on the outlook for multilateral trade initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. This program is co-organized with The Korea Society and the Asia Society Policy Institute.
