“New York Needs You” Fellowship / Scholarship

February 14, 2011 By JVaisman

Information Session:
Date:               Thursday, February 17, 2011
Time:              12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Place:             VC / 3-125

New York Needs You is an undergraduate fellowship/scholarship program that targets first-generation college freshmen and sophomores to aid in the career development and life-planning process.

NYNY’s program itself is a 2-year long program where workshops are held on Saturdays. The workshop themes vary among different key competencies needed for success. (Eg. interviewing skills, presentation skills). Fellows are given a personal 1-on-1 Mentor that helps the fellow along the entire process of the career development process. Now the most important part of the program is the network and relationship you build with the mentor they assign you and anyone else you meet along the process.

It is an opportunity of a lifetime that I want many students at Baruch College to take advantage of.

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions regard my experience.

Thank you,
Christian Sarmiento

PS…This is a small video of the program as well. Please take a look.
