Thanks to a generous gift from the Stephen Siegel Honors Fund, Provost Scholars may apply for grants to support academic enrichment activities for fall 2011. Siegel grants can be used for:
Study abroad (up to $2,500)
Independent research (up to $2,000)
Unpaid internships (not for academic credit, up to $2,000)
Academic conferences (up to $2,000)
Graduate or professional school applications (up to $2,000)
Licensing, graduate, or professional school exams (up to $2,000)
Publications, performances, or other creative activities (up to $2,000)
Grants may not be used to subsidize internships that carry academic credit, nor for books, materials, and supplies. In addition, grants may not be used to cover Baruch tuition or defray living expenses, except for some study abroad programs. Please speak with your advisor regarding your plans to determine whether a grant may be used for study abroad tuition.
Funds may cover costs already paid this semester or anticipated expenses; supporting documentation must be included justifying the amount requested along with receipts.
To apply, students must be in good standing in the program. Priority consideration will be awarded to those students who have not previously received funding from the Honors Program. Applications and information are available online and are due no later than December 16, 2011.
