CUNY programs in China are:
The CUNY program at Nanjing University – semester/year “Chinese Studies” program, 12-17 credits, courses in Beginning and Intermediate Mandarin Chinese, and in English – Culture and Society, History, Literature, Geography, Political Science.

The CUNY program at Shanghai University – one-month Summer or January “Study Mandarin and Business in China” program, 3 or 6 credits, business and Chinese courses.  Summer 2012 flyer at:  http://www.csi.cuny.edu/international/study_abroad/booklets/ShanghaiSummer_flyer.pdf

Shanghai students may apply for:

CUNY STOCS Grants

CUNY Study/Travel Opportunities for CUNY Students (STOCS) need-based competitive grants, $1,000 to $1,650.
Application Deadlines:

Summer 2012 – March 19

January 2013 – early October

Shanghai and Nanjing students may apply for:

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

PELL students may apply for up to $5,000.  Awards for Academic Year, Fall, Spring or Summer.

Application deadlines:

Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Academic Year 2012-2013 – March 1, 2012

Spring 2013 – early October 2012

Nanjing students may apply for:

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA)

Minimum 2.8 GPA.  Summer awards up to $3,000, semester awards up to $5,000, and academic year awards up to $7,000.  Summer programs must be at least 8 weeks duration.

Application deadlines:

Summer 2012 – February 15, 2012

Fall 2012, Academic Year 2012-2013 – April 4, 2012

Spring 2013 – early October 2012

Nanjing students may apply for:

2012-2013 David L. Boren Scholarships

Undergraduate scholarships up to $20,000 for an academic year’s study abroad.

Application deadline:  Undergraduate Scholarship – February 9, 2012
