Marketing & Communications Intern
The mission of the Starr Career Development Center (SCDC) is to provide comprehensive career services to Baruch College undergraduates. SCDC offers a number of special career-related programming which supplement coursework to enhance students´ professional development. Programs range from networking to expanding knowledge in chosen fields.
We are seeking motivated and energetic candidates for the Marketing & Communications Intern position. Intern will get involved in various projects and presentations, gaining exposure to operations and logistics in the areas of career-related programming, from planning, execution, to follow up. Intern will perform outreach by building and maintaining relationships with campus stakeholders including student leaders to gain public relations and communication skills. The position will run the gamut from assisting in tactical execution to brainstorming, as well as, collecting, compiling and organizing information for reporting purposes. Intern will learn basic marketing skills, gain related experience, and learn how it can translate from a collegiate to corporate environment. The Marketing & Communications Intern will be supervised by Jun Ishidoya, who has a professional background in marketing and advertising of 8 years.
Responsibilities:
· Communicate with student clubs and other stakeholders
· Design creative/graphic materials when needed
· Assist at events with set-up and follow-through
· Assist with SCDC projects
· Develop, maintain and update information in databases and reports
· Additional administrative/miscellaneous duties
Eligibility Requirements:
·Undergraduate or Graduate students can apply. Possibility of receiving school credit for this unpaid internship. This Internship will start in August 2012 and end in mid May 2013. The position requires availability to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a minimum of 10 hours a week.
· All majors can apply including liberal arts. Those pursuing careers in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Media preferred.
· No previous experience required.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Graphic design software skills such as Microsoft Publisher a plus.
