Macaulay Scholars Council (MSC) Elections – Fall 2012

Being a Macaulay Scholars Council member makes a difference!

“More than just a student government body, the Macaulay Honors Council is an important and influential voice of the Macaulay student body at CUNY….” The MSC and its members have been responsible for either developing and/or supporting:

Construction of My Macaulay, the new Macaulay Honors College Student Web Portal.

MSC member representation on the Macaulay College Council, the “academic governing body of the College.”

Annual special events, including:

MacaulaySING!
The Macaulay Olympics & Spring Picnic
CUFF at Macaulay: The City University Film Festival
Arts Night
Spring Formal
Cultural Passport Scavenger Hunt

Become an MSC member for 2012-2013. Representatives are needed for all four classes, at all seven campuses. Submit your Statement of Interest by 12 noon on September 27.

Election Period Timeline:

Friday, September 21 to Thursday, September 27 (12 noon deadline)

Submission of Statements of Interest by all candidates, new and incumbent; all interested candidates should send their statements directly to their home campus Advisor.

Friday, September 28 (beginning at 12 noon) – Thursday, October 4

Candidate statements available for online viewing by all MHC students via Google Docs; watch for email with “Statements” link.

Friday, October 5 (beginning at 12 noon) – Sunday, October 6 (ending at 11:59pm)

Election period: cast your vote online via Survey Monkey. Watch for email with your link to vote.

Wednesday, October 10 (no later than 3pm)

Winners announced to all campuses.

Friday, October 12, 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Official opening meeting of the Macaulay Scholars Council at 35 West 67th Street. All elected representatives for 2012-2013 must attend.

***Elected members who have a legitimate Friday class conflict must inform me in writing at least 24 hours in advance.
