Jewish Studies Center presents “A Talk with Georgetown University Professor Jacques Berlinerblau”

October 9, 2012 By lmaestro

We are pleased to invite you to a talk by Georgetown University Professor Jacques Berlinerblau entitled “Are American Jews the Most Secular People on Earth?”

This talk is based on Dr. Berlinerblau’s recent book, How to Be Secular: A Call to Arms for Religious Freedom (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). Dr. Berlinerblau, the author of numerous books and articles, writes about topics ranging from the Hebrew Bible, the sociology of heresy, modern Jewish intellectuals and African-American and Jewish-American relations. How to be Secular discusses secularism in America today, how it affects religious freedom, and what it adds to politics and society in the United States. Dr. Berlinerblau is the Director of the Program for Jewish Civilization at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

This event will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 6-7 PM in the Vertical Campus, room 14-285, at Baruch College. The room is located on the 14th floor of Baruch College’s Vertical Campus, 55 Lexington, with access available on East 25th Street, between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. Refreshments will be served.

This event is free and open to the public.
