Interested in Teaching Math? Math for America Fellowship

November 13, 2012 By CChala

Math for America is a nonprofit organization that aims to support exceptional Math and Science public middle and high school teachers. We have various fellowships for new and experienced teachers that offer professional and financial support. The MƒA Fellowship might be of particular interest to your students. This fellowship is for recent college graduates and career changers who have a strong background knowledge in math (at least 21 math credits) and want to become teachers in a NYC public middle school or high school.

The five-year MƒA Fellowship provides aspiring math teachers with:
– $100,000 in stipends in addition to a full time teacher’s salary
– A full tuition scholarship for a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education followed by four years of teaching mathematics in public secondary schools
– Mentoring, job search support and ongoing professional development opportunities
– Membership in a national corps of highly qualified secondary school math teachers

For more info, visit: http://www.mathforamerica.org/mfa-fellows

We have several information sessions coming up:

Tuesday, November 13 – http://bit.ly/Uvr7x0

Tuesday, December 18 – http://bitly.com/Ue5NvD

Thanks so much,
