U.S. Student Fulbright Program Information Session

March 1, 2013 By DANIEL CATANIA

U.S. Student Fulbright Program Information Session

Representatives from the U.S. Student Fulbright Program will visit Baruch College to provide information and guidance on opportunities provided by the U.S. Department of State sponsored Fulbright Program.   The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants in all fields of study for individually designed study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships in a country outside the U.S.

During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences.  The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and include: graduating seniors and recent bachelor’s degree recipients; master’s and doctoral candidates; young professionals , including writers, creative and performing artists, journalists and those in law, business and other professional fields.

All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.

When: Thursday March 14th from 12:45pm to 2:00pm

Where: Room 14-240 of the William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus, Baruch College

For more information contact: Valeria Hymas, Postgraduate Fellowships Advisor,646-312-3064,[email protected]
