Summer Service Abroad Opportunity: FWB Barbados Project

May 20, 2013 By CChala

See below or visit www.baruchfwb.org for information on Financiers Without Borders Summer service trip abroad: Barbados Project. Funding available! Apply now! Spread the word!

Dear Students:

Please consider the following summer opportunities in Barbados.

1) Participating in Consultation Trip to Barbados (Free Airfare + Free Stay)

a) Introduction of the Organization:

The Financiers Without Borders at Baruch is a non-profit organization, dedicated to giving students volunteering opportunities in small businesses and other organizations around the world. Our projects benefits both students and companies alike, by on one hand providing students chances to put their studies to a practical use, and on the other hand supporting small businesses in need of help in regards to their strategic planning, marketing, and expansion.

b) Barbados Project (4-week project–Late July to Late August):

We are taking applications for our Summer 2013 project in Barbados. A team of four students will be assisting a local apparel company “Irie One Skateboards & Apparel Company”, specifically to help the company (1) establish a business model for operational success, and (2) help construct a publicly-accessible skateboard park for the local youth. This project integrates business consultation and community service.

c) Cost (Virtually free):

Eligible participants’ (Returning Undergraduate & Graduate students—international students included) flight tickets will be covered by International Travel Grants. Thanks to Mr. Wilson’s (the owner) generosity, rooms will be provided to all participants.

2) Applying for E-board Position at FWB

We are also looking for enthusiastic club officers (positions for which you can apply through our website: http://www.baruchfwb.org/become-a-club-officer.html). This will be a great opportunity to gain leadership experience while helping both students and small companies abroad.

We look forward to hearing back from those of you passionate about the social cause, and about your own career development.

Best Regards,
