Create Your Own Major

Arts & Sciences AD HOC

v  Create a major with courses from various disciplines

v  Combine Liberal Arts with Business classes to make yourself

not only marketable, but well-rounded

v  Have creative control and name your own major

v  Show employers you have initiative and drive

Through this major students may combine course selections from at least two arts and sciences departments.  Students wishing to include business courses, this major may include up to 9 non arts and sciences credits. The student creates the title of the major and chooses intermediate and advanced courses.  Four approving signatures are required.

Attached is a flyer advertising this semester’s last two workshops of the semester Flyer Fall 2013. Attendance at one workshop is required before meeting with Wendy Heyman, PhD to discuss this opportunity. Also attached is a Wall Street Journal article on colleges all over the country who offer this option of creating one’s own major WSJ article 2010.
