Oxfam’s America Student Leadership Program

January 23, 2014 By lmaestro

Apply for Oxfam’s 2014 CHANGE Initiative!  Global issues. Leadership skills. Campus actions.

Oxfam America is now accepting applications for its national student leadership program for rising college sophomores and juniors. CHANGE Leaders are exposed to the international development issues that inform Oxfam’s work, and apply their skills and creativity to run Oxfam campaigns on campus. Selected students participate in a week-long training in Boston, July 19-25, 2014, which is organized and paid for by Oxfam. Students then work with Oxfam on campus during the 2014-15 academic year and join or form an Oxfam Club to implement an Oxfam campaign on campus.

CHANGE Leaders:

  • Receive leadership and advocacy training focused toward creating social change locally and globally
  • Have access to expert skills based training, resources, materials and year-round support from Oxfam staff
  • Explore policy issues related to the global food system using a rights based approach
  • Establish connections and share knowledge with college students from the US and beyond

Applications are due April 1, 2014. Learn more about the CHANGE Initiative and read the FAQ at: http://www.oxfamamerica.org/change.

Students should apply online at: http://oo.oxfamamerica.org/change/index.php/register/.

Please share this information in departmental newsletters and encourage students you know to apply. If you have questions or would like to request a CHANGE brochure, please call 1-800-77-OXFAM ext. 9415 or email [email protected].
