Congrats to Amrita Narine! on her acceptance to law schools at Harvard, NYU, Boston College, Georgetown and Duke

March 21, 2014 By VPagrizauskaite

Congrats to Amrita Narine! Baruch Macaulay alumna on her acceptance to law schools at Harvard, NYU,  Boston College,  Georgetown and Duke. Read Amrita’s advice on applying to law school.

  • What is your first choice for law school?

Harvard (pretty much 95% sure I’m going there)

  • Which area(s) of law are you hoping to pursue?

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m considering legal academia.

  • What advice do you have for students who plan to apply to law school?

Tough question! I would say make sure you’re really passionate about focusing on law. It’s a long, frustrating process, but absolutely worth it if it’s what you want to do. Also, try to get everything done early (especially since most law schools admit people on a rolling basis). This means taking the LSAT preferably in October at the latest, asking for recommendations as soon as possible (and constantly following up), and finishing your application by Thanksgiving. Also, follow your interests in college. You can literally study anything and go to law school. There’s no set path and everyone follows their own.
