Free access to the NYT digital edition for 364 days – Hold the press
The NYT.com Academic Pass that enables all Baruch students, faculty and staff access to the digital edition of the New York Times for 364 days for free. No limits on viewing and reading current articles. The CUNY libraries, including Baruch’s Newman Library, and the Office of CUNY Library Services is paying for this access.
Here’s some additional information:
The Newman Library is using http://bit.ly/nytbaruch to direct our students, faculty and staff on how to sign up for the NYTimes.com Academic Pass. All CUNY students, faculty and staff may sign up for the pass but must use a CUNY email address.
*Baruch email addresses are required for those at Baruch.
*You receive an email confirmation from The New York Times
*The access is free for 364 days from the date one registers
*Graduating in May, this summer or in the fall? Register before you graduate and you will have access for 364 days. Baruch alumni are not eligible for the academic pass.
*Taking only a summer class at Baruch? You are still eligible –just use your Baruch email address.
*Teaching only during the summer sessions? You are still eligible-just use your Baruch email address.
*Use your academic pass on the web or The New York Times mobile app for phones (not available for the tablet app)
*There’s no monthly limit to viewing and reading current articles. Some restrictions on archived articles from 1923-1980 apply. (Explained on the New York Times website.) The Newman Library offers other databases with 2014 issues of the New York Times and the complete archive, going back to 1851, without restrictions.
*Alerts may be set up to receive email notification of new coverage of topics you are interested in
*The William and Anita Newman Library joins with other CUNY libraries and the CUNY Office of Library Services in sharing the cost of this new resource. A one-year contract was signed; renewals are anticipated.NYT_Annoucement_QR_logo_05 08 2014
