HSBC Scholars Program

The HSBC Scholars Program was created to invest in the futures of low-to-moderate income juniors and seniors pursuing a full-time education in the STEM curriculum or business-related academic programs at DePaul University (Chicago), Baruch College (New York City), University at Buffalo (Buffalo) and University of Southern California (Los Angeles).
The Program will promote a positive attitude and incorporate HSBC’s core values of being open, dependable and connected by providing: financial support, mentoring, training and networking opportunities. The HSBC Scholars Program places special emphasis on technology and math within STEM, and also considers students majoring in business-related academic programs (Accounting and Finance). Rising juniors and seniors are eligible for scholarships paid at the beginning of the academic school year.
To be eligible for the 2015-16 HSBC Scholars Program, candidates must:
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate full-time (junior or senior only)* Scholarship funds cannot be applied to study abroad tuition.
- Be majoring in technology and math within STEM curriculum or other business-related academic programs i.e. Finance or Accounting
- Agree to participate in all HSBC Program Components, which include, but are not limited to: in-person meetings with an HSBC mentor, two-web-based trainings, and group telephone meetings with HSBC Scholars Program leadership.
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA and maintain this average through the scholarship academic year.
- Demonstrate financial need
- Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
- Complete a short essay
- Submit a resume
*Students eligible to graduate in December 2015 are not eligible to apply.
