Baruch College Undergraduate Research Opportunity in Ecology

Professors Mary Alldred and Chester Zarnoch are looking for an undergraduate student to participate in a research project examining the transformations of nitrogen and carbon in restored salt marsh islands in Jamaica Bay, NY.

The project will include both field and laboratory research. Most lab work will be completed at Baruch College with some being performed at Brooklyn College. Field work will be conducted in Jamaica Bay (Queens) and may involve physical labor in challenging conditions. We need your good-spirited participation!

The student will work 10-15 hours/week and be paid $15/hour. We’re looking to have the student start immediately.

To apply, submit a single PDF with:

  • Cover letter which explains research
    interests and career objectives
  • Unofficial copy of transcript(s)

Preference will be given to students who could continue working on the project as an independent study.

Questions and applications should be sent by email to BOTH Profs.
