Starr Study Abroad Fellowships
FAQ’s: C.V. Starr Study Abroad Fellowship for Baruch Scholars and Provost Scholars 2015-2016*
The C.V. Starr Study Abroad Fellowship was made available by the Weissman Center for International Business based on a generous donation from the Starr Foundation for study abroad-related expenses.
- Fellowships are $1,300
- Students may receive only one such fellowship during their undergraduate careers.
- Students may use the Fellowship at any time during their undergraduate careers, and for any type of approved program, such as short-term (January intersession or summer) or semester-long program, and may use it during any term in which the student is otherwise eligible to study abroad.
How to apply
In order to receive the check (it can only be paid in the form of a check) for the Fellowship, the student must:
- Submit and have approved a Baruch College Application to Study abroad.
- Be eligible to be issued a Study Abroad Permit by the Baruch Registrar’s Office (meaning, all courses must be approved for Baruch College credit).
- Submit a completed C.V. Starr Honors Programs Study Abroad Fellowship Eligibility Form. The student fills out the information about the program, signs it, and gives it to her/his advisor to sign, verifying that the student actually is a Scholar in good standing.
Scholars studying abroad for a full-semester should submit the C.V. Starr Study Abroad Fellowship supplement; they may be eligible for additional funds.
Deadline
Please note the application deadlines for the C.V. Starr Study Abroad Fellowship: October 15th for study in the spring semester, and March 31st for study in the fall semester.
*Dean’s Scholars are also eligible for CV Starr, but are not processed through the Honors Program, rather through their academic advisor. Students who are both Provost Scholars and Dean’s Scholars are encouraged to apply through the Dean’s Scholar program and may receive funding only once.
