Veronica Maldonado – Bio

Veronica MaldonadoFor over 20 years, Veronica Maldonado has served in various student service areas at the City University of New York (CUNY). Her higher education career began as a student at Brooklyn College working in the Financial Aid Office. She later served as an Academic Advisor for a special program, a role which taught her that individualized support is critical to student success. Prior to joining Baruch, Veronica served as the Assistant Dean for Student Services and oversaw the Scholarships and Grants, International Education, Student Development, Advisement, and Career Services areas at Macaulay Honors College. She comes with the understanding that an honors education allows students to explore their varied interests through hands-on learning both in and outside of the classroom. She is excited to be leading the Baruch Honors Program and working with the community to expand the opportunities for learning, engagement and community-building.

As a first-generation double-CUNY graduate, Veronica is grateful for the faculty, staff and mentors who believed in her potential. She makes it a point to pay it forward with the same generosity of spirit whenever the opportunity arises.

Veronica is fond of all living creatures – from geckos to elephants. Her collection of elephant figurines reminds her of the beauty of these gentle giants.

Veronica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Brooklyn College. She is deeply committed to CUNY’s mission of academic excellence, equal access and opportunity.
