Guide on how to register for Pathways Science Courses:
• Students who have not transferred in a Pathways Science course, must take one Life & Physical Sciences class along with it’s corresponding Scientific World course (e.g. ENV 1004 [Life & Physical Sciences] with ENV 1003L [Scientific World]). Students must match the section codes for the required Lecture, Lab and Recitation. For example: ENV 1004 (Lab) Section CMWA, ENV 1003L (Lecture) Section CMWL, AND ENV 1004L (Recitation) Section CMWA
• Students who have transferred in a Pathways Science course or PSY 1001 are required to take only their remaining Science class (Life & Physical Sciences or Scientific World). This is referred to as a “stand-alone Science class” and are indicated in CUNYfirst by a section sequence ending in “X,” e.g., CMWX. Students should refer to Degreeworks and speak with their Advisor to confirm if they already have credit for one or both of the required science courses. More details about this policy can be found here.
Stand-alone science courses and some major classes require special permission from the Natural Science department. See the Department of Natural Sciences webpage for detailed instructions.
