Weissman School of Arts and Sciences: Notes for Honors students

Declaring your major & minor

  • Weissman majors can declare their major and minor as early as their first year, but should do so no later than the semester in which they are completing 60 credits.
  • Must declare a major and minor  at  the department AND at the Registrar
  • To declare a business minor, as a non-business major, fill out the form with the Baruch Registrar.
  • With special permission, Weissman students may register for two liberal arts majors. In such cases, you do not have to declare a minor. If you are considering this option, consult with your advisor as soon as possible.

Core requirements

  • Review the  BA degree requirements under the Common Core Curriculum; (if you started before Fall 2013) or the Pathways core curriculum if you started Fall 2013 or later (or opted in.)

Capstone requirement

  • A FeitSeminar (IDC 4050H) or Harmon Writer in Residence is required to graduate with honors. See Honors Courses for course description.

Prerequisites

  • To take 3000 level Zicklin Courses as Weissman major: BA majors may take 3000 level Zicklin courses if they have declared their major and completed the pre-requisites for each course (see below). More information on Zicklin Course Permission.
