Elainne graduated in 2017 with minors in Finance and Italian. She studied abroad in Hong Kong and Italy.
Elainne currently works as a Senior Manager working on Integrated Marketing at Verizon.

Elainne’s Current Role
As an immigrant from the DR who is deeply connected to my culture, I was thrilled to lead Latino segment campaigns at Verizon from an Integrated Marketing standpoint. Latinos are a diverse group that cannot be placed into one bucket, and it’s essential that a company of our scale speaks to consumers in a way that makes everyone feel seen, heard, and understood.
Elainne on Integrated Marketing
IM connects all marketing teams, from legal to creative, ensuring seamless execution. I oversee these teams, ensuring campaigns are effectively developed and launched. My role involves understanding each team’s contributions, managing relationships, and streamlining processes to drive successful campaign execution.
Elainne on her Experience Abroad
The experience abroad was life-changing. I was in Hong Kong for the spring and in Italy for the summer. The differences I experienced across Asia and Europe really prepared me to be open-minded and mindful when engaging with people from different backgrounds. I also learned that there is no room for assumptions when exposed to a new culture, but rather, room for curiosity. One of the specific differences I noticed regarding the culture was their interactions/mannerisms while conducting business. In America, we tend to be more direct, whereas in Italy and Hong Kong, there was a similar focus on relationship-building. While there were some other differences, I felt that their prioritization of getting to know one another through non-work-related conversations was particularly impressive.
Elainne on Trends
Marketing is becoming more personalized, focusing on individuals rather than broad segments. We aim to give customers options to curate what they see based on their needs. This shift means moving away from assumptions about fixed categories. While AI helps, human understanding remains essential to ensure meaningful and accurate connections.
Elainne on Skills Development
It is important to stay on top of trending skill sets in today’s rapidly changing world. I did various certifications after researching what other professionals were doing in the areas that I was interested in. This really helped me today to incorporate some of the learnings into my current role. One that I find very applicable is the Agile Transformation Certificate.
Elainne’s Advice
Explore everything that excites you. Some say you can’t do it all, but if it sparks your interest, pursue it even if it includes more than one thing. Push past doubts and internal boundaries. The rewards will be greater than you imagined, ultimately benefiting both your personal and professional life.
Don’t be afraid to diverge from your field of interest. Integrated Marketing has nothing to do with my minor and former career in finance but I managed to incorporate my financial background into some of my work when presenting the VPs with an idea to manage an IM budget tracking framework for our organization. Having these skills will come in handy and will allow you to think outside the box.
