Logging In

• Login to blogs.baruch.cuny.edu using your Baruch username and password.
• At the top of the page click on “My Sites” and choose “Latinas: A Social and Cultural Survey”
• This should bring you the Dashboard.

Creating a Post

• From here choose “Posts” from the menu on the left and then “Add New.”
• All posts REQUIRE a Title and an Image.
• To add an image, click on the + and choose “image.” Then upload your chosen image.
• Then add your written comment in another block (again click on the + but this time choose “paragraph.”)
  • I recommend that you draft your written post outside of the site and then copy and paste it into the block. This will ensure that you don’t lose your work if it doesn’t post correctly on the first try.

Finalizing a Post

• Once you have a title, an image, and your text ready to go, look to the menu on the right. If you do not see it, click on the black settings icon on the top righthand side.
• Choose “Post” from the tabs at the top of this menu.
• Now scroll down and under “Categories” choose the appropriate text for your post.
  • If you do not do this, I might not see your work because it will end up uncategorized and won’t show up on the front end.
• Once you have done this, scroll down a bit further to “Featured Image” and upload an image to display as the cover to your post. This should be the same as the initial image you included in your post.
  • Featured images will reformat to squares, so it might be best if you create or upload a square image to begin with. You can do this using Canva (the IG post format works best) or Google Slides and reformatting your image to a square (File -> page set up -> custom -> 10 x 10 -> apply)
  • Images (and any other media used in your posts) should be under 2MB. If you need to include something larger, please house it in a separate space and include a URL in your post.
  • Images should also include Alt Text for accessibility purposes. To do this click the “Block” tab on the menu to the right and highlight the image block. There will then be a place for you to include your Alt Text.

Publishing a Post

• Once you have confirmed that you have completed all the above steps, simply click on the blue “Publish” button at the top of the page on the right hand side.
• Return to the site (“Latinas: A Social and Cultural Survey” at the top in black) and confirm that your post is there and includes all the required information. If it does not, go back and edit as needed.
