Radio Pitch: What do Parents Inform their Kids about the Election?

With the election forty-one days away, Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton will be headlining the news for the foreseeable future. For many of us, we have to decide who the best candidate is sooner rather than later.

However, with many of us undecided and our votes up in the air, who or what is going to tip the scales? That is where the children of America come in. Though kids are not old enough to vote, they hold the key to America’s future. They are the next generation. In order to get to that future, we must make sure we don’t mess up the present.

Now Trump and Clinton may not be the two greatest candidates of recent memory, but one of them will win this race and become president of the United States. That being said, America’s children will be the ones who dictate this election. The problem is where do they get there information from? More likely than not it is their parents giving them this information, which is why for this assignment I am going to interview sets of parents that are for each candidate and ask them questions pertaining to what they inform their kids about the election and what do their kids think about that particular candidate, and so on.

Radio Project Pitch: Memoirs of Brighton Beach

For the radio interview project, I have decided to combine my cultural background with the current election. I think the political perspective of each culture differs based on the conditions of the socioeconomic realm from which they come from.

The Soviet Union as we know it was a place of corruption, religious persecution and poverty. Said in one word – communism; and the effects of it. As one could imagine, growing up in these conditions, not knowing anything else steers your belief system towards accepting this unfair and cruel treatmentThe worst part being is that these conditions were presented as just. Standing in line for hours for sugar and only receiving as much as your family headcount allotted for on top of no synagogues existing were just some of the barricades faced by the Russian Jewish community.

This community now resides in Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, NY and for some reason, is completely 100% pro Trump. In fact, people even go on to say that they hate Hillary and Democrats. Because I have differing views, I want to find out what their views on immigration policy are (Trump’s wall and focus on deportation), foreign policy (relationship building with foreign nations – Trump having his hands on the nuclear arms deal) and just a general consensus of the election.

I look forward to reporting this story!

Keeping Up with Yeezy Season 4

I decided to do my project on the experience at the Yeezy Season 4 presentation on Roosevelt Island, for New York Fashion Week. Since it was my first show, and Kanye West is infamous for selling the “experience” of his products, despite thier quality. Although I am behind the camera, I wanted to photograph it from the angle of the audience, therefore, bring you all along for the ride. So welcome to Yeezy Season.

Hello Class.

This is my drafty google slides doc of the final days of a sleepy Upper East Side (E 96-90) neighborhood before the Second Avenue subway begins its first run. In my written comments, I plan to get into experiences and perspectives of the before, during, and completion of what I would consider a ‘community renovation’. I will be doing this through the voices of residences, business owners, and observations of people who work in the neighborhood.

Theres a lot of construction shots Ive posted already–since they are almost done with the project– and I also plan to include more candid shots of the neighborhood people.

Thanks for reading.

Pelham Parkway Baseball

My photo essay is all about a local baseball team based on Pelham Parkway in The Bronx. I followed a specific team for over two weeks spending time with the whole team but mostly spending time with Cruz brothers, and following their journey through it all. (Photos 4,5,6, and 10 are being planned to be replaced with in game photos from this upcoming weeks game.)

Cannoli Eating Contest: Let The Best Amateur Win (Draft)

I have focused my project on the Cannoli Eating Contest that takes place yearly at the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy. I had an incredible time shooting this in such a high energy environment and having the event so closely tied to my favorite dessert! I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

This past Sunday, I took a trip to Metlife Stadium to see the New York Giants take on the New Orleans Saints. With the game being the home opener, I took the liberty to document this event. I basically wanted to do a day in the life of a Giants fan. Though I may or may not use this idea as my final project, I still enjoyed this event nonetheless. The pictures may not be good, but maybe you can find something in the story. It was a terrific game all around that just added to this breathtaking experience.
