Government Shutdown is No More!!!!!!

STOP THE PRESSES!!! The Government Shutdown is officially over. Everything is fine now right? I wouldn’t say that everything is 100% better yet, but this is an improvement. The NY Times wrote an article on the matter. According to the article, the two sides are aiming to keep this from happening again, but it could be far easier said than done. The article also mentioned, “The question of what a new House-Senate budget conference can deliver by its Dec. 13 deadline — in time for Congress to act by Jan. 15 on funding to keep the government open — remained the subject of deep skepticism, well earned by past failures at reaching so-called grand bargains for deficit reduction and spending investments in the past three years.” I am also skeptical that they can reach an agreement by then and if not…this whole Shutdown could be coming back sooner than we think. We have to stay hopeful that it won’t get as bad as it did these past two weeks. The problems that the Shutdown created may not have vanished over night, but this has started the process and people can finally start working again.
