My life matters because I am a black woman growing up in a system that doesn’t treat people with black skin fairly, meaning that I face criticism and judgment every day. My life matters because I am a human, with human rights. My life matters because I have family and friends who love me dearly and would hate to see me judged by the system or 10 feet under. My life matters simply because of the fact that I am alive and here on this earth. I shouldn’t have to have a reason why my life matters because I am human, and ALL of our lives matter.
