When asked the question “why does your life matter ?” one might be left with much confusion and uncertainty. My life matters for numerous reasons however when handed such a personal yet broad question it is quite difficult to “accurately” respond to those words. I strongly believe that everyone is brought to this earth for various reasons. Everyone has a purpose. When initially handed this question the first thought that came to mind was the probability of one being born. In essence, the odds of being born are one in 400 trillion. This excessively large probability allows me to infer that everyone’s existence is extremely precious. However, recently when trying to figure out why my life matters I began to think about my ancestors as well as the experiences, milestones and challenges I’ve endured. As a 19 year year old college student I’ve discovered that my life matters due to numerous reasons. My life matters because I am a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, girlfriend, friend, student and an acquaintance. The list goes on. I have a strong purpose and meaning to hundreds of people around me. I’ve changed peoples lives in such powerful ways, and I’ve established such a strong and meaningful role in many lives.
