Yaakov: Hello and welcome back to another episode of Peace Love Hummus Interviews. Today we have a very special guest. A Brooklyn Native and a lifelong lover of hummus, Yitzhak Shmuel Schwartz. So Yitzhak Shmuel why dont you tell me…why do you love hummus?
Yitzhak: Well I am interested in the flavor and the taste of the land of Israel and this in Brooklyn is about as close as we can get.
Yaakov: So you say that there is some association between hummus and the land of Israel. Can you expand on that?
Yitzhak: Absolutely, this is the middle east you can go from the Mediterranean sea to Tel Aviv to Jersualem and its a place with flavor a place with meaning. Hummus has a distinct middle eastern taste and here in Brooklyn we connect with Israel and have hummus almost every sabbath.
Yaakov: Ah very nice so its a weekly ritual to eat hummus. Last question how do you like your hummus served?
Yitzhak: the truth is if you get hummus freshly made spread recently baked pita this is the best presentation. I dont like it from store bought, canned, or processed. Rather, I will tell you that there are certain restaurants here in our neighborhood where they make the hummus that day fresh.
Yaakov: Very insightful. You like fresh hummus fresh! Well thanks so much for being here and that concludes our latest episode of Peace Love Hummus. Thank you Yitzhak. Lets continue spreading peace and love one hummus spread at a time.
