Volunteers for Fatima – Fatima Baryab (D) campaign for city council, seeking interns!

Message from Fatima Baryab:

My name is Fatima Baryab and I took on the endeavor of running for New York City Council at the age of 22. I want like-minded youth to get involved in my campaign because now it’s our time to shine.

We only stand strong when we are united. Therefore, as a fellow New Yorker, I am asking for your help. I am looking for passionate New Yorkers who want to reclaim our city. New Yorkers who wish to take control of our history. New Yorkers who wish to be the flicker of hope in the darkness that surrounds us today.

I am willing to provide a platform to initiate this change. As Interns/volunteers participants will be compensated with recommendations, community service credits, and a stipend to cover food and travel expenses. Additionally, this is an ideal opportunity for students wishing to gain experience in the fields of political science and public affairs. Students will be provided a safe and nurturing environment that will facilitate them in their career search.

I am writing to you to help spread the word of this opportunity to your students at Baruch College.

Please find the flyer and application attached to this email. Please contact my team at [email protected] with any questions.

Vaccine for All Corps now hiring!

In his recent State of the City address, Mayor de Blasio announced the Vaccine for All Corps, an effort to bring good jobs to 2,000 New Yorkers supporting vaccination efforts across the five boroughs. We are excited to announce that hiring for the first of these positions is now live atnyc.gov/vaccinejobs!

Recruitment for Vaccine for All Corps jobs is led by the Workforce1 Career Center System operated by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), targeting candidates from the communities hit hardest by COVID-19. No healthcare experience is required for many of these positions, which include roles in site management, operations, and client services, in addition to clinical roles. Interested jobseekers should visit nyc.gov/vaccinejobs to fill out an interest form to begin the screening process with SBS Workforce1 staff.

The Vaccine for All Corps will bring much needed job opportunities to our hardest-hit communities, while also ensuring that there are familiar, friendly faces greeting New Yorkers at their local vaccination site—and in their languages—driving trust and combating hesitancy. Again, no healthcare experience is required for many Vaccine for All Corps roles and all jobseekers with operations, customer service, and management experience should apply at nyc.gov/vaccinejobs, including those from hard-hit sectors such as restaurant and hospitality workers.
