Congratulations to all first year students starting in Fall 2017! We warmly welcome you into the Baruch College family and look forward to meeting you soon. Here are some tips to help you explore and get the lay of the land here at Baruch and at the Starr Career Development Center.
● Make new friends. Join a student club and get involved with on campus activities.
● Learn what Baruch has to offer. Check out the Athletics and Recreation Complex (ARC), The Baruch Performing Arts Center (BPAC), the Office of Student Life, Student Academic Consulting Center (SACC) for tutoring, and The Newman Library.
● Consider applying for the student leadership development program T.E.A.M. Baruch, and/or the Rising Starr Sophomore Program (RSSP) to develop your communication, leadership, and team work skills in your sophomore year.
● Check out the official Starr Career Development Center (Starr) website for helpful information on majors, jobs, internships, and workshops.
● Once you get access to Starr Search (the Starr’s career management system) two weeks into the semester, you can create your profile, check out job and internship listings, sign up for workshops, or make an appointment to meet with a counselor.
● Consider doing a summer internship or volunteer work to explore career options and expand your resume.
● Walk in to the Starr Career Development Center to learn more about how we can help you.
