Final Presentation Project

Well first, I would like to briefly explain about my product in this final project. Everybody know that College life is so hard and stressful. Students does not have time for themselves, not even for eat. So, some of them just go to a class and then to another class, they forgot something important which is how to have a healthy lifestyle. The key is to know how to administrate your time. And here I will share the best solution for this problem.

Well, the idea is to create a website that benefits the time of the students and at the same time have a private personal trainer in Baruch College gym. Without having the need to go out to other places (regular gyms) and paying too much money for membership, monthly fee, wasting your time back and forth. We are a team of 5 personal trainers (students) with the mission to improve your goals.

In 1on1 personal training website

offers personal training (1 to 1), plus how to have a good nutrition and how to have a strong mindset all the time (focus on daily motivation). We will use Freemium Model Software so that students can try the service for a few days for free and then do their routine schedule during the week (weekly payments). The great part of this website is that you will find the section of my workout plan, schedule time, make appointments, cancelations, notifications, and promotions.

  • The value proposition of this product is that students must manage their time, have a healthy lifestyle, and save money.
  • Next, I plan to test this idea on a large scale and stand to edit and refine our landing page in hopes to increase our subscribers, shares, and emails submissions on Baruch student’s social media, Baruch official website, and flyers papers.
  • From here I will start to build our resources database create my final website and partners.

Landing Page MVP

To capture the customer’s attention, for our incredible MVP, I believe that a landing page is the best option to evaluate if our main customers will be interested in our service and product. Our landing page will have a small and important summary of our solution, as well as a small and interesting form for our clients to register by email. Our future clients will have the facility to enter their emails if they are interested, and if our idea gives value to their lives, we can send them an email with updates and promotions.

Based on the amount of data collected, we can get a rough estimate of how many students would be interested. For our actual landing page, we plan to use “WIX”. One of the reasons we selected this platform because it is free and incredible to use. It is very easy to create a website and our goal is to create an MVP without investing a lot of money for that reason we need the feedback of our first customers when we launch our product for the first time on the marketplace.

 I also believe that Facebook is the most suitable platform to advertise since more than 90% of our clients use Facebook, and as a second option would be the Instagram platform since they are connected by the same company and it will give us strength in the part of the impact to client. To get a great specific impact, we plan to advertise only Baruch College students on their home page, sharing our incredible products and services, both men and women will have the opportunity to have better advice based on nutrition with our excellent personal trainers for students who want someone to motivate them and lead them to fulfill their dreams of being healthy and in good physical condition.

For my ad design, I chose to focus on the physical health aspect of our website. Our “Call to Action” will be “Get in Shape Now”, so that you can improve your studies with a lot of energy. Below I have added an example of what our website will look like. In the ad I chose people doing a little training so that people have a better vision of what we offer. With this video I want the students to imagine what they would look like in the future, with discipline and a good work plan. Finally, in one corner, place the necessary information, our logo, and our company’s work plan.

We also plan to make a free website to share videos of the stories, experiences, and goals that clients have. This will give us a great advantage in sharing the videos and making us known for our excellent work.

 Focusing on my detailed business canvas, we can talk about the part of the price where we emphasize that the gym and membership service is free for being students and that only through the application can they have the privilege of using the personal trainer service according to the schedule of the student for a low cost.

Promotion, this application offers personal training (1 to 1), plus how to have a good nutrition (meal plan) and how to have a good mindset all the time (focus on daily motivation). The Place where we are going to do our routine, is located inside in the vertical Baruch building and the advantage that the gym is in the same university and the students would save time and money. So, students will not have the need to go to other gyms and pay more for a personal trainer service, plus the membership and monthly fee for use a gym.

Finally, there are many competitors in this field that we can consider great threats, but I think it will not affect us if the student wants to save time and money with our excellent services. Expert Interview

Well to start this assignment, the most difficult thing was to contact the owner or general manager of this company to start my research on the development of the application system and website that they manage. As you know, I chose New York Sport Club gym since they have a very sophisticated and complete system in their applications and social networks. I started sending emails and messages on their social networks internally in the messages part, but unfortunately, I did not have any response from them. So, my last alternative was to go to a New York Sport Club gym personally and try to make an appointment with someone important from that place who can help me. The good part was that a regular manager of the place called Josue, he took the time to help me with some answers since the owner and the people in charge of this application system were very busy solving problems of all their branches. We very kindly sat down, and I began to ask him a few questions, to get some ideas and points of view from that person.

  1. What is the most difficult thing to build that application so that customers can have better accessibility in their app or website?

The most difficult thing was not creating the application because over time you improve it through what the client likes or does not like. The most difficult thing was for people to learn and adapt to the operation of an application or website. They were taught how the gym application worked and what benefits it brought when they wanted to use the gym. The main objective was that they can do everything for the application, for example, registration, payments, classes, schedules, available trainers, receive notifications, covid-19 surveys, and that they can make their reservations so that the number of people who go during the day can be managed.

2. As a company, how do you adapt to the change of innovation to have a better marketing and be the best?

Today innovation is the key to success for a company, everything is always changed so that your competitors are not better than you. The internet is the most important tool that every company uses in these times to satisfy customer needs.

3.What was your strategy that makes you unique as a company?

Take care of our loyal customers and win others through them.

4.How does the company work with promotions, offers, discounts to get many customers and above all keep those loyal customers and how do they implement it in the App and website?

The offers are always varied, and we give great promotions so that new clients do not resist when registering as a new member of the gym. The service must be five stars, speaking of customer care. Finally, our application is the secret weapon talking about the quality of the service, offering numerous things to do through it and facilitating the client by giving those warning messages, gym status, covid-19 information, and reservations for the use of the day.

At the end of the interview, I told him about my idea of implementing an application for notices, reminders, status and making reservations for Baruch College gym. He asked me why? I answered him because it is very small for the number of students and athletes that there are and many times, we must wait per minutes or cancel our routine many times for that reason. But if we have this application with all these benefits, we will not waste time in the waiting line when it is full and in advance of any notification, we will take advantage of doing something productive in those moments of discomfort.

The manager liked the idea since it will be necessary now due to the pandemic, and we must prevent the transmission of the virus with social distancing, minimize the number of people, wear masks, always clean the machines. Managing student time will be very important with that application you have in mind.

Health Fitness and Gym App

Fortunately, I have the opportunity to be a student at this prestigious university, which is Baruch College and is in the middle of a beautiful and busy city called Manhattan. A city where there are opportunities, and this university is one of them. The good thing that this university is in Manhattan where you can find everything around it such as restaurants, clothing stores, sports bars, the post office, pizzerias, coffee shops, train stations, well almost everything is accessible.

Before this horrible pandemic, we almost always went out with my classmates to the bookstore to do homework together, sometimes we went to eat at a nearby restaurant and quickly return to the next classes. We calculated a lot of time to be able to do things during the day and not arrive at any time late to classes but there was a problem that when we went to the college gym to do our routine for the day, many times it was very full and unfortunately, we wasted time in which we already had planned. That problem had us stressed, angry and very nervous when we wasted time making long lines to enter the gym or use any machine and we had to quickly return to the next class.

Usually when we chose to go to the gym to do an hour-long routine before going to a class, we would see the time we had and many times we would go in the morning, other days in the afternoon or at night. We managed our schedule so we could do homework and be on time for each class. But I realized that there was a big problem that happened to us many times. In the Baruch gym it was very small and many times when we chose and coordinated to go in the morning it was full and there was no availability to use any machine and we practically lost time and did not finish doing anything and ruined all the planning for the day.

I think for many students who love to exercise as a lifestyle, others do it for health and some as therapy. I have always believed in the saying “healthy body, healthy mind”. It would be good to solve this problem of not knowing if the gym is full, to reduce stress, anxiety, and our precious time so that they do not affect our classes and personal lives. I think creating an app to make reservations daily, depending on the student’s schedule. With this we would save the time of doing other important things such as homework in the library, workshops, going to eat and being on time for classes. Also know the hours of availability so that they let us know at what time of the day it is full to change our schedule during the day and know what machines are available so as not to change our routine. Last, waiting time in line, to better calculate our time.

I think my canvas it is going to be a great explanation for this amazing idea. In the first part we identify the problem which is: the Baruch gym is too small; it is always busy, and the gym machines are very limited to use.

We immediately identify some solutions that is to create an online communication App for Baruch students with possibility to connect with main gym staff to provide a tool to make reservations daily, reschedule, hours available, and waiting time in line.
