I think my canvas it is going to be a great explanation for this amazing idea. In the first part we identify the problem which is: the Baruch gym is too small; it is always busy, and the gym machines are very limited to use.
Solution
We immediately identify some solutions that is to create an online communication App for Baruch students with possibility to connect with main gym staff to provide a tool to make reservations daily, reschedule, hours available, and waiting time in line.

The next one is unique value proposition which is Baruch students-oriented communication platform.

Now let us talk about unfair advantage which is Baruch College Athletics activities to use the gym anytime and for this other reason we need this App to organize student schedules.

Our customer Segments are going to be our College students, Athletic department, and College Staff.
Key Metrics
In this part its about key metrics which are number of comments, feedbacks, and daily active users, with this we can improve our services.
Channel Referral
Channel referral among Baruch student’s society, Baruch Bearcats, Alumni, Campus, Athletic department, member Staff, College Websites. Here, this social channel sources will show the name of the App or website that directs traffic to this site.
When I look at your problems listed, I have no idea how a “communication system” solves the problem of “the gym is very small” and “the gym is always full” and “machines have limited use”. This system does not make the gym size larger or bring in new machines right? And when you say its always full, then does a scheduling service really help?
What you are implying is that when YOU want to use the gym, that is when OTHER students also want to use the gym, thus giving you the impression that the gym is “always full”. I am pretty sure that at 6am, the gym is empty but you aren’t coming to campus at 6am. So what problem are you actually solving? I have some ideas but I want you to really think about this. One reason why your Lean canvas is vague is because you don’t make it clear which problem you are actually solving. 3 out of the 4 listed are unrelated to your solution.
I really like this idea and I think it would really help keep things organized and allow people to manage their time better and actually get the chance to workout. I was thinking that you could also add a page where the students can see their classes and availability all on the same page for convenience. They could still have the option to schedule during class in case class is cancelled. Just something you can think about! I think having a scheduled gym appointment would also motivate students to workout. Many people don’t like to cancel last minute because they feel bad for those who could have had their time slot so I think it actually helps them more in that case.
