For me, innovation means to improve or create something that would lead to more efficiency within a company, thus leading to happier customers, shareholders, and employees. Innovation, like many other business strategies is about creating greater value for the customer, hopefully at a lower price to the company. So, innovation does not always have to be a grand new scheme, or a new invention, these days are over and almost everything has already been created. But to improve an existing product or service so that it can provide more value to the customer,this is real innovation. Like the article says, the best thing to do is start small. Innovation can be in the way the supply chain runs, one can innovate a system for POS software that helps it run more smoothly, innovation can occur in technological advancements that can ease the work put on laborious workers. Regardless, innovation is much smaller and more tangible than we think.
