There are many elements to this movie that gives off a distinct uncanny vibe such as: music, props, costumes, change in time, and setting. In the beginning of the movie, the scene is dark and vulgar. There are four teenage boys in distinct outfits hanging out in a room with bunch of manikins positioned in a sexual way. The beginning of the movie already gives off to the audience that this movie is not something you see very often or ever.

Another scene that caught my attention was when Alex, the main character of the movie, got home from the first night of the movie. The next morning he wakes up, the mood of the movie shifted completely as he became a different character. This scene in the movie portrayed the contrary to the other scenes when Alex is with his boys.

The numerous elements that the film uses contribute to overall effect because it’s something we don’t see on regular basis. It is very out of the norm and because it’s different and very vulgar like, the movie does a good job of giving off a distinct weird vibe.

  1. I understand where you’re coming from, that we are attracted to almost the weirdness of the movie and the themes of it. I just wonder if its the distinctiveness which is inviting or the violence?
