Journal #17

‘Politics and the English Language” showed many or Orwell’s concerns and observations about the direction of the English Language.

He showed the lack of care or realization that people actually had to the growing disintegration of the English language. Mistakes and bad writing which was so obvious, went by published, and unrealized. The fact that the passages got published, just because they were written by scholarly people and that led the public to believe and not wonder about what was being said.

This leads to what Orwell’s main concern is. That people no longer use their intuition or their common sense. We believe anything published, however not everything published is credible. As people we have gotten lazy and we never research into who a person is and why, from all people why does their particular opinion matter?

Anyone can go online and write about what they think. However, only a small few can and should be trusted.

This is very but i began to wonder what about the people who do look into what they are reading. The ones who look for the credibility despite the author and such? shake spear himself added over hundreds of words to the English language which today can be said is a little difficult to read. I agree with Orwell but I also think that certain cultures and people read things for how they are regardless of the language used to display the authors ideas
