The library session with Professor Udelson was very informative. I learned about Academic Search Complete, Gale Virtual Reference Library and Jstor. Prior to this session, I had only been using google and google scholar. I think that these new websites will bring forth great articles hidden from the searches of google.
I think that Academic Search Complete will be a great source to use because of all the subscriptions that Baruch has. It seems similar to Gale Virtual Reference Library, but it also includes articles that only cunys may have access to. Jstor was interesting as well because it seemed less formal than the other two and included more freely written articles.
My next research step is to look beyond my own scope of the film and explore other peoples’ views. I also have to make sure I’m not creating something out of nothing in the film. By researching, I will be able to determine whether or not there is actually something of what I am talking about in my paper in the movie and does not just exist in my mind.
