I believe switching twitter from a social media site inclined more towards distraction to one used for eductional purposes is a step in the right direction. These sites were initially created to streamline your ability to get all the information you want in one place, but have become something different entirely. They have become a distraction, an influx of useless information about celebrities and pop culture that doesn’t benefit anyone.

Trying to slightly tilt twitter in the direction of an educational tool is something more people should be trying to do, especially in consideration to the younger generations. Similar to almost all other new creations and inventions, twitter can be used as a tool or merely an object of entertainment or destruction.

This integration of twitter into school can help kids see from a different perspective and hopefully adjust their use of social media to a more constructive manner.

I never though Twitter, or any social website, could be used educationally. I strongly believe this idea can be used in many other classes worldwide. Many young students already have accounts on most social websites, so it would not be anything new to them; they are already comfortable with using it.
