We lived in a digital era. Speeding up our communication, e-mail, message, and other social medias have replaced the mails or other physical ways to contact others. We can now google whatever we want to know quickly, instead of spending a whole day in library to search, though that doesn’t mean library is useless. Also, we can share our ideas, news, moons, or thoughts in the Internet. Internet has been playing a more and more important role in our life. If we own our citizenship in a physical place, then we also own our digital citizenship in a digital way. The difference is that citizenship is hard to define and classify its right and obligation.

I think if a person relies on digital tools more or less, then he can be called a digital citizen, because he spends his time and “lives” in Internet.

A digital citizen should behave like a physical citizen in the digital world. I saw someone go crazy and shout dirty words on a website to let off steam or just have fun. People think they are hiding on the other side of monitors, so that no one will found out who they really are. That is wrong. There are a lot of spy apps can find you, and your ID address will be tracked. Whatever you upload to Internet will stay forever, even thought you thought you have deleted. It is call digital permanence. So, be careful what you sent out.
