A Digital citizen is someone who uses the internet extensively. Everyone is a digital citizen in today’s world because we all use the internet whether we are at work or at school. Kids are being taught at a young age how to use it and are offered classes to teach them. The internet has become the new must have because of the new generation, everyone wants information and products in the palm of there hands. We are responsible as digital citizens to make sure that it is safe for children 15 and younger. since everything is available on the internet now it’s hard to monitor what they are exposed to. There is a lot of danger now too with people making fake profiles to approach the unexpected. We have to educate them on what they can and can’t go on. The signs they should look out for when they are on online chats. Its important that we do this because we can prevent a lot of incidents like abductions and pedophiles.
We are responsible as digital citizens to report spam or fake profiles. We have the power to change things. If you see someone doing wrong call attention to it and have the page removed.
As a digital citizen, we should definitely report any misuse of the internet. Individually, we may not have the power to change something, but if we are able to spread the word, we can create any change necessary. However, do you really think that it is our duty to change it and not someone with more authority?
I think make a fake profile is not a big deal if we do not hurt someone’s feeling or lie somebody on purpose. But we have to be responsible for our action, we should understand all the risks that may happen to us.
