Before we started the project, I thought Twitter would be an interesting way of exploring Huck Finn but I was skeptical about whether it would be an effective way. Now that we’re about to wrap up the project, I think the use of Twitter was both an effective and interesting way of exploring this novel. It would have been more effective for me if I didn’t try to complete the task at the end of the week all at once. Yet, it was still effective because I was able to see what other students (those who tweeted on a daily basis) were thinking about throughout the week. During my commute, I would open up Twitter and there were bunch of new idea (that I didn’t notice from the reading) from various amounts of students.
I thought the ability to respond to another student’s tweet was very effective. I saw numerous amounts of responses towards other student’s tweets which started a conversation on a topic from the novel. This allows students to respond and converse with another at any time of the week.
Although I didn’t use Twitter as efficient, I was still able to appreciate it because I still read other student’s thoughts and conversation with another. Also reading responses to my tweets from other students allowed me see different perspectives of certain scenes in the novel.
I had a similar problem as you, that I would do all my tweets at once, those times were still effective though. I regret not utilising the twitter page better.
