Before talking about the workshop, let me just say I had a really hard time writing this essay. Coming up with a topic that suffice either of the two options was torturous. But I still somehow finished the essay. So to talk about the in-class workshop of our compare and contrast paper, it was an interesting exercise, especially the reverse outline. The act of creating an outline after finishing your paper was a bit fascinating to me. But this exercise made me realize a lot about paper, particularly my strengths and my weaknesses.
Through the reverse outline I found that my essay is a little weak at times. Going off topic and not connecting it back to the main idea was the problem. I now know to add more conceptual details that relates back to my thesis and not just expand an off topic idea. Adding a bit of textual citations and interpretations would strengthen my central idea. My peer commented that my third paragraph of my essay can be furthered detailed and transitioned into better. And also said that my transitions are weak at times, I kind of jumped from one idea to another without easing into it. My strengths, according to my peer, includes that my thesis is clearly stated and there are enough evidence to support it.
