Journal number 13

Throughout the workshop and looking through the peer review of my first draft, I realized certain strengths and weaknesses in my paper. The reviewer of my paper pointed out that although I sort of have an interesting claim in my paper, it is sort of missing the bigger point that the author of the novel is trying to make. She also pointed out some grammatical error such as repetition. The reviewer asserts that I must look deeper into my idea and to provide proper argument for my controlling thesis.

Although, the review done by my peer was of great help, it was more beneficial for me when I was reviewing my peer’s paper. Looking through their paper for strengths and weaknesses, I sort of understand how to analyze my own paper and to correct the weaknesses. Usually, it is really hard for me to edit my own paper once I finish, but through these assignment, I sort of gain that skill a little bit. I think this skill will not only help me improve this paper but also the workload of paper that I will be writing in the future.

  1. I agree, its hard to edit your own paper. When you look at it for so long you just become unable to identify the issues which someone else will find easily when looking at it for the first time.
