Through the close-reading analysis, I realized that I need to better present my thoughts on my subject and bring about a greater significance into the essay’s context. I have identified the following three aspects as my central argument in the novel:morality, deception, and violence. By comparing these three ominpresent elements in the novel, I aim to achieve a distinct contrasting of Finn’s deliberation before his embarking the journey, during his adventure, and after this memorable trip in the Mississippi. After listening to my peer’s advice, I will write in greater details and focus more on Finn’s struggle instead of giving examples to support the arguement. Throughout the course, I realised that example citing does not make you a proficient writer. Rather, writing itself is part of arugment, and the art of arugment is an elusive skill which equires logical, persuasive, and coherent representation of the author’s idea to convince others of his flawless argument.
