The Adventure of Huckleberry and Finn by Mark Twain is one of the few books I enjoyed reading. Although I could find a lot of inappropriate and racism context throughout the story, the adventure of Huck and Jim is still very enjoyable to read. The way Twain portray the story is also very compelling. Twain portrays the treatment of violence toward animals as entertainment as to prepare readers for similar response to human murder between the Grangerford and Shepherdson later in the story. I was very excited and shock of what is going to happen throughout every chapters.
One of the few things we needed to do as a class while reading The Adventure of Huckleberry and Finn is to tweet about our reading experience every time we read the book. To be honest, at first I thought tweeting throughout the process is a useful tool for readers to understand the story better. But the truth was I was pretty annoyed by it, because I keep forgetting to tweet. However, I did find benefits from reading other tweets about Huckleberry Finn. I was able to read and follow the story in different perspectives.
Reading Huckleberry Finn the past month was very strange for me, because I was never known as a reader due to excessive laziness in me. But I quite enjoyed the book because there were lots of exciting moments and scenes for me to continue onto the next chapter. In my opinion, I believe that Huck was just a shadow of Mark Twain. Because of Civil war and slaves in Twain’s era, it must be hard for Twain to choose between his morals and social morals. The Adventure of Huckleberry and Finn is just a story to reflect or symbolize Twain’s adventure.
