Week 2

This week, I conducted some research and jotted down ideas of what I might want to see on my website:

  • My overall design style is minimalistic, clean and contemporary. It reflects that of the Swiss style design. So for my website, I want to stick to minimalism as well.
  • I want to keep it simple and easy to navigate.
  • I like colors and I want to incorporate multiple color schemes in my design.
  • Initially, I want the front page to be just my logo, a short description about me and a navigation bar. The following pages would all have the same layout. Another design idea that I have in mind is putting a banner on top for the header, then the navigation below the header, then an About Me description, and lastly a footer. So, there will only be three additional pages; portfolio, services, and contact page. Another design style I had in mind is having a navigation bar to the right and the content in the middle. It will be the same layout for every page.
  • I thought of using four navigation pages: About me, Portfolio, Services and Contact. (Additional page, if I have enough time: Blogs)
  • I definitely want to use tiles to showcase my art works.

Other than jotting down ideas for my website, I also started doing some possible layout designs for my website. Ultimately, I came up with three different designs:

So for my independent study, I brainstormed for possible brand personality, sensibility, message and image that I want my brand to represent. In my previous post I mentioned that I want my brand have a fun and colorful personality. But thinking about it now, my personality is simple, clean, straight to the point, delicate, chic, and contemporary. This is reflective of my designs. And that’s definitely the message and image I want to convey to those who see my brand.
