Submission Period: August 1,2020-Feb 2, 2021
Eligibility: Open to all residents of United States and its territories. Must be a current student (Sophomore, Junior, Senior) of an accredited college or university majoring in African American Studies, Africana Studies, Black Studies, or related discipline. Must have a GPA of at least a 2.0.
Deadline: Application and materials must be sent to [email protected] by Feb 2,2021
Announcement of Winner will be made on www.alexthagreat.com website and all social media channels (FB, TW, IG) on April 30, 2021
Award monies will be sent to winner by May 7,2021
How To Enter:
* Print out the application and fill it out legibly in black ink. Scan and email it to [email protected]
* A complete submission includes:
1. Application
2. Transcript (can be a scanned unofficial copy)
3. Letter of Reference (preferably from a member of AfAm department, but not a requirement)
4. Personal Statement (1 ½ pages, typed, 12pt font, Times New Roman)
a. must reference some form of financial need
b. must reference a passion and commitment to uplifting the black experience
