Asian Americans vs Mainland Chinese
In this part I will discuss the normal discipline taught between a Chinese child from China and a Chinese child from America. The culture displayed here will demonstrate how either child is brought up to analyze how they react to certain situations like school curriculum and discipline which leads to their educational performance and ability to learn.

The link above demonstrates the differences between asian american upbringing and Chinese mainland upbringing. In American upbringing the parents are seen as more lenient, they try to become friends with the child. This approach does not show authority for a parent, in fact it shows potential weakness because the child does not feel any pressure in his or her studies and will most likely be unmotivated to study and do well in school at a older age simply because the child had no direction at a younger which the parents did not provide. On the other hand mainland Chinese demonstrate strict practices and expect their child to excel at a young age. Pressure is present in a child at a young age which allows him or her to cope with more difficult courses when the child advances to higher level courses at an older age thus allowing the child to be prepared and possibly excel in these higher level courses as well.
